Fill up the gas tank and hit the fast lane

It’s time for vacation, so find a great station
On the radio, and then away we go.
Sometimes we take it slow so we can see the sights
Sometimes we fly through the night like a meteorite.
There’s not a thing wrong, I got my grin showin’
Arm out the window, swimmin’ through the wind blowin.
My whole family’s along for the ride
Playin’ road games, singin’ songs while we drive.
Every day it’s a different home – new hotels
We switch ‘em up, like hermit crabs do to old shells.
And I’ll be someplace new when the sun sets
Doin’ things that I haven’t done yet.

Who got the tasty pastries – who got the best croissants?
We’re havin’ fun with the summer ‘cause it’s here and gone

You ready for this thumb war – ha! Nice try.
Us kids are always good – okay, I lied.
Sometimes we yell like, “Dad, she’s on my side.”
We like the traveling bug better than cabin fever
The road trip keeps us together like a Trapper Keeper.
A lot of conversations ‘cause there’s a lot to see
It makes the words come together like apostrophes.
We’re all havin’ fun – Dad’s tellin’ stories
It’s those same old ones, but they never bore me.
Man, I love my family, and it’s a nice day
And I’m glad to be on the highway.
