Little Saki was having fun as she played with blocks
but Daddy made her stop
cause it was 8 o’clock
time to put on her PJs
and get into bed
after she was tucked in
and the books had been read
he kissed her on the head
and said-Sweet Dreams
her bed was warm
pillows soft and sheets clean
she smiled, took a minute to give thanks
and yawned
instead of a nightlight
the fish tank was on
her eyelids were heavy
she knew they’d close quick
and she went to sleep
she watched her goldfish
in the soft light
she could see them swim
its hard to say when the day ends
and the dream begins
just like usually
she went to sleep smoothly
and pretty soon dreams
turned her mind into a movie
One fish was pink
not gold like the other two
she started growing bigger and bigger like a balloon

And as she grew
she floated up out of the water
the other two reached for her fins
and they caught her
then all three of them
floated out the window
into the night sky
going where the wind blows
the pink fish
got as big as a car
and brought the other two
to go and visit the starts
they flew from earth
out into the universe
watching comets
that looked like fireworks when they shoot and burst
they saw planets
made of cotton candy
surrounded by moons that were deserts
all hot and sandy
and as they passed a sun
they saw a giant turtle
they floated for awhile
and watched him fly in circles
and every time he came around
he’d smile and wink
they flew next to him
he taught them how to sing
and their songs turned into dolphins
made of starlight
that swam out to grant wishes
in the dark night
then they said they’d better go
and headed home
the turtle smiled he didn’t mind
being left alone
and as the goldfish
flew back to planet earth
they sang a song and everyone
could understand the words
but it was something
that you never heard them talk about
they flew down to the ground
next to Saki’s house
And then the pink fish
started getting smaller
they flew in the window
and back in the water
a little crash landing
made a little splash
Saki was fast asleep
but gave a little laugh
when morning time came
the sun shone bright
it was a big dream
to fit in one whole night
and Saki thought about it
as she woke up from sleep
and got out of her bed
to go brush her teeth
the dream was so cool
it was hard to forget
and as she waked by the fish tank
the carpet was wet
